Gene Winfield built the car for the Hartford Autorama show promoter Joe Kizis, for being used as a promotional attraction to his show.  The name of the car was "Autorama Special". In 1965 it makes its first appearance at the Autorama Custom car show. Because of mechanical problems, Kizis sold the car back to Winfield. Winfield fixed the problems and renamed the car as "The Reactor" and now the car appeared in several movies and tv-shows as Star Trek, Batman, etc...On the Star Trek episode "Bread and Circuses, Season 2/25 in 1967,  the car is known as the “Jupiter 8 car”.

William Shatner adores his daughters. He was happiest when he could spend much time together with his 3 little girls... His biggest fear regarding the divorce from Gloria was, that he was no longer allowed to see his children.
